Orthopedic Massage in Dallas, Texas

Orthopedic Massage describes a comprehensive system, rather than a single technique. It focuses on restoring structural balance throughout the body for both prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal dysfunctions. Orthopedic massage takes a multidisciplinary approach and works with you as an active participant in your recovery.

The primary modalities that are used include functional assessment, myofascial release, cross fiber gliding strokes, neuromuscular therapy, scar tissue mobilization techniques, p.n.f. stretching, neuromuscular re-education, strengthening, and specific client home care protocols. The combination of these techniques makes it possible to obtain immediate and permanent results in even the most challenging and complicated clients.

Orthopedic massage looks beyond the massage session to the origin of the pain either from trauma-induced injuries or postural imbalances that exacerbate the pain through daily activities. Common orthopedic conditions can stem from sports injuries, postural imbalances due to poor work ergonomics, chronic pain and scar tissue from surgery or traumatic injury.

The list of conditions orthopedic massage can be used to identify and correct is quite extensive. However, the level of experience, proficiency and education a massage practitioner has is going to determine what conditions that individual practitioner can actually effectively treat.

I am a work in progress and am very committed to further education in orthopedic massage.  I find the possibilities of what it can do to be very exciting. So far I have had success in helping clients substantially diminish and often get rid of neck and shoulder issues, rotator cuff issues, low back pain, muscle spasms, repetitive motion injuries, thoracic outlet syndrome and joint pain.
